I live in Maine. Non residents own mcmansions and do not pay fair tax on their property but instead buy a cute lobster trinket in the summer time. It cost $44,000 a year to keep a non violent offender locked up when most people don't make $44,000 a year. For every $1 lost in state funding we loose $3 in Federal matching funds. This is the RED FLAG folks. Cities, Towns, Municipalities need to stop asking for hand outs. Our police department was so proud of their grant writer who received $500,000 (FREE MONEY)???? from uncle Sam to buy stuff the city could not afford or need. Grant Writers are welfare seekers. When the organization that represents the people can do a better job spending our money perhaps I will voluntary some more of mine. Political Ass Wipes!
It turn for the cost of the trinket $3.99 and a minimum wage job they do not have to pay full property tax on their 5000 sq vacation home. We all smile and wave as they drive away in there mercedes?
